We stayed at this site for 3 days. We have been here on a couple of occasions and find the site to be suitable for our needs.

This is an ideal base for touring Perthshire and a large part of Central Scotland. The site is next to Perth race course and polo field. Scone Palace is about a mile away. The site is part of the Palace estate and a tour of the Palace and grounds is highly recommended. There is a beautiful chapel outside of which is a replica of the Stone of Scone recently restored to Scotland. If you do go to the Palace then why not make a day of it. There is a restaurant and a cafe in the Palace Kitchens. The cafe serves a lovely fresh salmon sandwich and freshly made scones with butter and jam at reasonable prices.

From the site you can walk by the racecourse to the River Tay where you can watch the fishermen fly fish. The Tay is renowned for its salmon and trout, although we have yet to see one caught.

The city of Perth is only 2 miles away. The shopping is excellent and there is a leisure pool and skating rink for the young (or just the young at heart).

The site is ideal for touring; to the east on the coast is St Andrews famous for its golf courses, head north-west and you find the purple heathered moors of the Birks of Abernethy. In Abernethy itself there is the Round Tower, which you can climb up to get a wonderful view. To the east is Pitlochry with its famous Fish Ladder where salmon negotiate the dam to go upstream to spawn. There is also a theatre and some cafes by the river.

The site amenities include a recreation room and disabled toilet and shower facilities and non-members are welcome. There are 150 pitches with some all-weather.
